General procedures

VACCINATION AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

As of the 1st August 2022, all travellers are allowed to enter Malaysia regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status and do not require a pre-departure or on-arrival COVID-19 test.

We advise checking with your local consulate for any changes in requirements before travel.

INFECTION

- If you are showing symptoms of Covid-19, you must inform the management and will be required to take an antigen test as a precaution.

- If the test result is positive, you will not be able to participate in any diving or snorkelling until you test negative.

CLEANING AND SANITIZING

- Common areas are cleaned and sanitized every morning before opening and every night after closing. This includes both our office and our dive boats

RENTAL EQUIPMENT

- Rental equipment will stay with the same guest during the whole stay.

- Regulators, masks, and snorkels will be disinfected in a chlorine solution (as recommended by DAN) before rented out to another person

Diving After Recovering From COVID-19

Regarding diving after recovery from Covid-19, there are currently ongoing discussions about the potential long-term and short-term medical effects, and whether this will impact individuals participating in scuba diving

As we know, the virus effects people in various ways with different levels of severity & varying levels of long or short-term consequences. As it stands there is no evidence or link to prove that people who have recovered from Covid19 are at risk to dive anymore so then a person who has recovered from pneumonia, high blood pressure or any other medical condition that would under normal circumstances seek a general medical before resuming scuba diving or any other adventure activity again.

As a result, unless you enroll in a PADI course where it is actually necessary, there are no "requirements" yet for seeking a medical to resume diving. However, as with all of the above conditions, if you had and recovered from Covid19, we at Scuba Junkie would strongly recommend that you seek advice from your personal physician and pursue a medical examination, especially if you had more serious or long-lasting symptoms before you resume your Scuba Diving just to be on the safe side so you can enjoy your diving worry free.

thank you for your support!

As a safeguard for other guests, our staff and the local community, we from Scuba Junkie urge you to comply with these guidelines. Our dedicated staff has been trained to follow and conduct these measures to make sure your holiday is just as enjoyable and amazing as you have imagined it, even during these extraordinary times!

Thank you very much for your support. Let’s fight Covid -19 together and keep diving!
