Scuba Junkie is a multi award winning diving company that started from humble beginnings in 2004 and has now grown to include four resorts and one stand alone dive centre in two countries spanning some of the best diving locations that SE Asia has to offer. During this time we have worked tirelessly to maintain the excellent customer centric, safety conscious and environmentally friendly ethos that over the years so many of our loyal guests have come to know and love and come back for time and time again.

Scuba Junkie started in Sabah, Malaysia where the first Scuba Junkie dive shop and resort is still based on Mabul Island, close to the famous Sipadan Island, and diving some of the best reefs Malaysia and indeed the world has to offer. Scuba Junkie has developed into a well known and well respected dive centre and resort operator in both Malaysia and Indonesia with our subsequent locations in Kota Kinabalu, Komodo, Sangalaki and Nusa Penida.

We chose each of our resort and dive centre locations carefully to blend unique, natural locations with some the best diving in the world and we are confident more than one if not all of our locations will be on your scuba travel bucket list.

The founders of Scuba Junkie have been working throughout SE Asias dive industry since the early 2000’s. With over 25,000 dives combined they and are trained in such disciplines as commercial and technical diving, reef ecology training and the creation of marine protected areas, marine biology and marine sciences, sea turtle hatchery management, 5* IDC centres, photography and much more. Our team has also been guest speakers in many Dive expos in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia on Marine conservation specifically on our work with Sharks, Rays and Marine Turtles and Marine Parks and have also featured in many publications on the same.

The Scuba Junkie resorts are award winning dive centres both for diver training and safety as well as for our commitment to conservation receiving numerous awards in both of these areas, such as the Wild Asia Award for the Protection of Wild Species as well as PADI training and other diving awards and most recently voted “The Best Dive Center or Resort” in the world in the Dive Travel awards 2020. Our resorts have also featured in many documentaries for the above on channels such as the BBC, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel.
